SC denies stay on Mathura mosque survey

Supreme Court declines to stay Allahabad HC’s order for survey of Shahi Idgah mosque in Mathura, deals double blow to Muslim side opposing examination of claim whether Hindu temple existed at the site. Committee of Management Trust Shahi Masjid Idgah requests SC to restrain HC from proceeding in the case, but SC advises committee to bring this to HC’s notice. SC refuses to pass interim order as it goes into winter recess, allowing HC proceedings to continue. SC previously stated that Allahabad HC should adjudicate the Mathura dispute.
