Israeli Mossad agent executed, says Iran

An agent of the Mossad, Israel’s intelligence service, has been executed in Zahedan prison in Iran. The agent, whose name remains unknown, was accused of working with foreign intelligence services and releasing classified information. Iran and Israel have a long history of accusing each other of spying and engaging in covert conflict. Israel considers Iran its main threat and has threatened military action to prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons. Iran denies seeking such weapons and supports anti-Israeli armed groups in the region.
