India logs 21 cases of new Covid-19 sub-variant JN.1
21 cases of the JN.1 variant have been detected in India. Certain states, including Kerala, Maharashtra, Jharkhand, and Karnataka, have observed a rise in the daily positivity rate. Over the past two weeks, there have been 16 Covid-19-related deaths. Union health minister Mansukh Mandaviya conducted a review of health facilities nationwide, emphasising the importance of staying alert to emerging strains of the coronavirus. Despite the increase in cases, hospitalisation rates remain stable, with 92.8% of infected individuals in home isolation.
