Newsclick HR head moves court seeking to turn approver
Amit Chakravarty, head of NewsClick’s HR department, has requested permission from a Delhi court to become an approver in a case involving allegations of receiving money to spread pro-China propaganda. Chakravarty seeks pardon and claims to have material information to disclose to Delhi Police. The court has scheduled a magisterial court hearing to record his statement. The police will decide whether to support his application based on his statement. Chakravarty and NewsClick’s Editor-in-Chief, Prabir Purkayastha, were arrested on October 3 and are currently in judicial custody.
