‘(I am sorry to say) but Vodafone does not exist any more’

In response to inquiries about the current industry structure and the survival prospects of Vodafone, Bharti Enterprises chairman Sunil Mittal expressed uncertainty, stating, “It is very hard to say.” Mittal highlighted the government’s strong support for Vi, mentioning the conversion of a significant outstanding amount into equity. With the government holding a 33.1% stake in Vi and expressing the desire for its well-being, Mittal emphasised that the ultimate decision lies in the hands of the sponsors of the company.
