Akhilesh announces tie-up with RLD for Lok Sabha elections

The Samajwadi Party and the Rashtriya Lok Dal have announced an alliance for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in Uttar Pradesh. The RLD will contest 7 seats in western UP. It will be interesting to see how the Congress reacts to this announcement. Already the opposition space in UP is divided with Mayawati’s Bahujan Samaj Party announcing that it will contest Lok Sabha elections without any alliance.
