Chris Pyatt, the owner of Pum’s Kitchen, a Thai restaurant in Australia, revealed that Apple Maps incorrectly listed his restaurant as ‘Permanently closed,’ resulting in a loss of business. Pyatt noticed a significant downturn in customers in November and December last year, with a loss of approximately A$12,000 in revenue. Despite reaching out to Apple customer service, Pyatt was told they couldn’t assist him as he wasn’t an Apple customer. Eventually, he was able to update the status on Apple Maps but experienced a delay. Other business owners have also reported similar issues with Apple Maps labeling their establishments as ‘permanently closed.’
