BSP chief Mayawati reinstates nephew Akash as successor

Mayawati has made the decision to reinstate her nephew, Akash Anand, as the party’s national coordinator and her designated successor. This move comes in the wake of the BSP’s disappointing performance in the recent Lok Sabha elections.The announcement was made following a meeting convened by Mayawati, who previously served as the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, to assess the party’s electoral results in the 2024 general elections. In May, Mayawati had taken the step of removing Anand from his positions as national coordinator and her successor.
