A painting titled “The Adoration of the Kings” is expected to fetch $18 million at auction after being reevaluated as a work by Rembrandt himself. Initially valued at $15,000, the piece is now considered significant and rare due to Rembrandt’s known art being mostly held in institutional collections. The 9.6 x 7.3 inch painting was created around 1628 when Rembrandt was 22 years old. Christie’s holds the current record for selling a Rembrandt painting at €23.2 million in 2009.
