Addictive medicine, overdose deaths add to Punjab’s miseries

Chief minister Bhagwant Mann has made a commitment to make Punjab a drug-free state by next Independence Day, but the ground reality is different. Despite “best efforts” put in by various state government wings since the constitution of the anti-drug special task force (STF) during the Congress regime in April 2017, the state has not been able to achieve desirable results in containing substance abuse and drug overdose deaths.​
