Adult’s right to marry as per choice is ‘indelible’: HC

The Delhi High Court has granted police protection to a couple who got married against the wishes of their parents. The court observed that the right of an adult to marry a person of their choice is protected under the Constitution, and even family members cannot object to such a relationship. The couple had sought protection after an FIR filed by the woman against the man was quashed. The court directed the Delhi Police to provide protection to the couple and ensure their safety.
