After 60 yrs, Nagaland gets 1st medical college
Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Mansukh Mandaviya inaugurated the first medical college in Nagaland, the Nagaland Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (NIMSR), fulfilling a long-held aspiration of the people. Mandaviya emphasized that NIMSR is not just a medical college but also a research institute, aiming to address the healthcare needs of the Naga population. The college, affiliated with Nagaland University, received permission to admit 100 MBBS students from the academic year 2023-2024. The inauguration was attended by Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, who expressed gratitude to the central government for their support.
