After shooter’s wife gets BJP ticket, Kalyan Sena chief jumps into fray as Independent

Kalyan Shiv Sena’s Mahesh Gaikwad, upset with BJP’s ticket allocation to his rival’s wife, is running as an independent candidate in Kalyan East. His contender is Sulabha Gaikwad, wife of jailed MLA Ganpat Gaikwad. Mahesh’s supporters rallied, but senior Sena officials kept their distance. Concurrently, Congress’s Sachin Pote also joined the fray as an independent candidate.
