AMA trains over 200 medical students in CPR
The Ahmedabad Medical Association (AMA) conducted a training session on cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) for medical students. The students will act as trainers to teach the general public how to perform CPR during a cardiac emergency. The aim of the initiative is to decrease mortality rates caused by heart failure. The training currently focuses on hands-only CPR and will eventually be extended to school students as well. The program is a collaboration between AMA, the Indian Medical Association, and the critical care society of the city. CPR helps keep the blood circulating and improves the chances of survival when the heart stops.
