Appeals court will not delay Donald Trump civil fraud trial
A New York appeals court has denied former US President Donald Trump’s request to delay his civil fraud trial scheduled for October 2. The trial judge had previously rejected Trump’s motion to dismiss most of the case, which accuses him and his family business of overvaluing assets and net worth to obtain better loan and insurance terms. The state Attorney General is seeking at least $250 million in penalties and a ban on Trump and his sons from running businesses in New York. The appeals court ruling found that the claims were not too old to pursue.
