Average gross total income for individual taxpayers rises to Rs 7L

The average gross total income of individual taxpayers in India has witnessed a significant increase, according to the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT). In assessment year 2021-22, the average gross total income rose by 56% to Rs 7 lakh, a considerable jump from Rs 4.5 lakh in assessment year 2013-14.
