Bar Council allows foreign lawyers, law firms to practice in India

The Bar Council of India (BCI) has agreed to allow foreign lawyers and law firms to practice foreign law in India on a reciprocity basis. However,they will not be entitled to practice law in India without registration with the BCI. The registration fee for a foreign lawyer is $25,000 and a law firm is $50,000.
