Bengaluru teen builds smart spoon for Parkinson’s patients

Aarav Anil, a 17-year-old from India, has developed a battery-operated smart spoon to help individuals with Parkinson’s disease feed themselves more independently. The spoon, which compensates for hand tremors and maintains stability, won first place in a robotics competition in Germany. Aarav has been fascinated by robotics since the age of nine and has represented India in over 20 robotic competitions worldwide. He plans to pursue a degree in robotics and engineering in the Netherlands, where he found practical-oriented courses. Aarav’s ultimate goal is to continue building innovative products that improve people’s lives.
