Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation to tow vehicles parked illegally near bars, restaurants

The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) in India plans to tow vehicles parked illegally near bars and restaurants to ease traffic congestion. Many establishments do not have adequate parking, causing patrons to park on the roadside, leading to traffic jams. The BMC had previously considered penalizing the owners and cancelling their licenses, but due to delays, towing has been decided as a temporary solution. The BMC is yet to decide whether fines will be imposed for illegal parking. Several complaints prompted the action, and it was unanimously agreed upon in a council meeting.
