Bus terminuses behind schedule

Work on a bus terminus in Thirumazhisai, Chennai, which began three years ago, is only 50% complete. Passengers are currently forced to board buses outside the congested Poonamallee bus stand. An additional 243 crore rupees will be needed to complete the project, according to an RTI reply. The deadline for completion has been extended to January 2024. Activists and residents are frustrated with the delays and the lack of basic amenities at the current bus stand.
