Byju Raveendran, the founder of edtech startup Byju’s, has been left off the latest Hurun India rich list due to a series of valuation markdowns faced by the company. Investors such as Prosus, BlackRock, and Baron Capital have slashed Byju’s valuation, which dropped from $22 billion to $5.1 billion. The overall wealth of startup founders on the rich list also decreased by Rs 85,000 crore due to the funding winter and policy changes.
