California based Navy sailor pleads guilty to providing sensitive military information to China

A US Navy sailor has pleaded guilty to charges of conspiring with a foreign intelligence officer and receiving a bribe in exchange for sensitive military information. Petty Officer Wenheng Zhao, based at Naval Base Ventura County in California, admitted to collecting bribes from a Chinese intelligence officer in exchange for information, photos, and videos related to Navy exercises and operations. Zhao faces a maximum penalty of 20 years in federal prison.
