Canadian sleuths saw Khalistan angle in killing

However, Canadian investigators initially suspected that Nijjar’s murder was the result of a feud between rival Khalistan groups. They were looking into a battle over Sikh religious institutions in Canada, with a focus on the faction led by Ripudaman Singh Malik, a member of the terror group Babbar Khalsa. The Canadian media reported that Nijjar may have been killed because of his “Khalistan activism.
