Apple offering rival payment apps access in EU

Apple has agreed to open up its Near-Field Communication (NFC) technology to third-party mobile wallet providers, resolving its antitrust case with the European Commission. The Commission is seeking feedback on these commitments. If accepted, they will be enforced for ten years, and failure to comply may result in a fine.
