Cdr Pakala crossed equator twice on Navy’s sole sail ship

Commander Sugunakar Pakala, one of the eight former Indian naval officers facing a death sentence in Qatar, has had an impressive career and achieved the milestone of crossing the equator twice on INS Tarangini. His family and friends in Visakhapatnam are shocked by the court’s decision and are hoping for his release before his birthday. Sugunakar joined the Navy at 18 and had a successful career before retiring in 2013. He was working for Al Dahra Global Technologies when he was arrested.
