Centre eyes 1 million sites to harvest rainwater by next monsoon

The Centre has launched ‘Jal Sanchay, Jan Bhagidari’ to construct one million rainwater harvesting structures nationwide before next year’s monsoon. The community-led initiative aims to enhance groundwater replenishment with support from both government and non-government resources. Success in Gujarat inspired expansion, with other states expected to commit to similar water conservation efforts.
