China growth momentum slows further amid calls for stimulus

China’s economy continued to lose momentum in June, with manufacturing activity contracting for the third consecutive month. The official manufacturing purchasing managers’ index fell to 49, indicating contraction, while the non-manufacturing gauge slipped to 53.2, signaling weaker expansion. Demand for factory goods remained a concern, and industrial deflation showed no signs of easing.
