Cop deserts & ‘dies’, then joins UP Police

A constable, who was declared deserter by the Chhattisgarh police, managed to change his identity with fake papers and become a police officer in Uttar Pradesh. The constable, Manoj Kumar, applied for a job in the UP police recruitment board using a different name after being declared dead based on a fake certificate. The forgery was discovered after an anonymous letter was received by the SP Mathura, leading to an investigation and the filing of criminal charges.
