Cop gets month in jail for drinking on duty

A police constable in Ahmedabad has been sentenced to one month in jail for drinking alcohol while on duty. The constable had sent an SOS to the police control room, complaining of workplace harassment. When the police arrived to help him, they discovered that he was intoxicated. The constable denied the charges but was found guilty of violating prohibition laws. The court decided not to give the maximum punishment considering the pending case and the constable’s remorse.
