Delhi’s October AQI this year worst since 2020
The air quality in Delhi this October has been the worst in the last three years due to a lower number of rainy days compared to previous years. The average Air Quality Index (AQI) this month is 214, higher than the 210 recorded last year and significantly higher than the cleanest October on record in 2021 with an AQI of 173. The lack of rainfall is a crucial factor affecting air quality, as rain improves it immediately. This year, there was only one rainy day, while previous years had six to seven rainy days in October.
