Despite rain, Guwahati celebrates Ganesh Chaturthi with enthusiasm

Despite the rain, thousands of devotees flocked to Ganesh temples in Guwahati to celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi. The highlight was a pandal with a 30-ft tall idol of Lord Ganesh themed after Chandrayaan-3, India’s successful moon landing mission. The celebrations will continue for nine days, with a different event each day. Devotees were seen waiting in queues for hours to offer prayers and seek blessings. Assam Governor Gulab Chand Kataria also visited the Ganesh Mandir and prayed for the welfare of the country and its people.
