Doc loses Rs 1cr in crypto trading scam, goes to cops after a yr

A 46-year-old doctor from Mumbai lost Rs 1.1 crore after being scammed by a woman he met online. The woman claimed to be an expert in cryptocurrency trading and convinced the doctor to invest his money based on her guidance. The doctor created a trading account and purchased various cryptocurrencies as instructed. However, when he tried to redeem his profits, he was asked to pay taxes and commissions. The doctor eventually realized he had been scammed and reported the incident to the police. An investigation is currently underway.
