ED nabs edu instt head in Rs 500cr scam

The Enforcement Directorate has made another arrest in the Rs 500 crore scholarship scam in Lucknow. Ram Gopal, the chairman of Jivika Institute of Pharmacy and manager of Dr BR Ambedkar Educational Society, was arrested from Hardoi. Gopal is the fifth person to be arrested in the case, which involves the diversion of scholarship funds. He had been issued several summons by the ED but failed to appear. It has been revealed that Gopal had also worked as a counsellor for the Hygia Group of Institutions, one of the key players in the scam.
