Election Commission removes Jharkhand DGP for ‘prior misconduct, bias’ in polls

The Election Commission has ordered the immediate removal of Jharkhand DGP Anurag Gupta over past allegations of biased conduct and misuse of authority. The state government is directed to assign his duties to the most senior DGP-level officer and submit a list of senior IPS officers by Monday for the new appointment.
