Eyewitness evidence carries greater weight than medical expert’s view in deciding culpability: Supreme Court

Minor discrepancies in eyewitness accounts should not make the evidence unreliable as it cannot be expected of him to narrate a blow-by-blow account of a crime like in a screenplay, the Supreme Court said on Wednesday while reiterating that greater importance be given to evidence of eyewitness over the opinion of the medical expert while deciding culpability of an accused.
