Fake FB page of state govt social media TV surfaces, plaint filed

Ranchi’s cyber police cell has reached out to Facebook after discovering a fake page called Jhargovwebtv, which is identical to the state government’s official social media channel. Hackers have been posting explicit content on the fake page, causing concern among authorities. The private firm responsible for managing the state government’s social media TV, Jhargov, has taken action to protect the legitimate page. The cyber police have contacted Facebook’s nodal officer and expect the fake account to be removed within 24 hours. The case has also been transferred to the Gonda police station for investigation.
