‘Family members to get Rs 1cr if Agniveer loses life in line of duty’

The next of kin of Agniveers who die in the line of duty will receive over Rs 1 crore from the Indian government. This includes non-contributory insurance, ex-gratia, contributions from the Agniveer and the government, pay for the remaining tenure, and a contribution from the Armed Forces Battle Casualty Fund. The announcement came after Agniveer Gawate Akshay Laxman lost his life in operations in the Siachen glacier. The Indian Army expressed its condolences and support to the bereaved family
