Fears about Amazon and Microsoft cloud computing dominance trigger UK probe

Regulators in the UK have initiated an investigation into the dominance of Amazon and Microsoft in the country’s cloud computing market. The UK communications regulator, Ofcom, expressed concerns about limited competition and barriers faced by businesses trying to switch or use multiple cloud suppliers. Ofcom has asked the CMA to conduct an in-depth investigation, which is expected to conclude by April 2025.
