Final notification out; polls for 225 BBMP wards in Dec?

The Karnataka government has issued a final notification reducing the number of wards in Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) from 243 to 225. The government had reconstituted the Wards Delimitation Commission, which submitted the delimitation report on August 4. After considering objections and suggestions from the public, the government made changes to the draft delimitation and finalized the ward-wise delimitation. The number of wards in certain areas will increase, while some areas will see a decrease in the number of wards. The ward maps will be made available online in two days.
