Flash floods: 3,000 tourists stranded in Lachen, Lachung in Sikkim

Despite efforts by the Indian Air Force to conduct rescue and relief operations using Mi-17 helicopters, they were unable to take off from Bagdogra and Chaten due to adverse weather conditions, including low-lying cloud cover and poor visibility in the Lachen and Lachung valley.
