Gaza goes dark as power plant shuts; Netanyahu forms wartime cabinet

Putting aside political divisions, Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu and senior opposition figure Benny Gantz, a former defence minister, Wednesday created a war-time Cabinet to oversee the fight against Hamas militants. Palestinians, meanwhile, struggled to find safety as Israeli bombardment demolished entire neighbourhoods and Gaza’s only power plant ran out of fuel, forcing it to shut down.
