Government to review minimum export price of basmati rice

The Indian government is considering reviewing the minimum export price (MEP) of basmati rice, which is currently set at $1,200 per tonne. The All India Rice Exporters Association (AIREA) has advised its members to be cautious in procuring and holding inventory of paddy due to concerns about the impact on basmati rice exports.
