Govt flags spike in urea use, but will bear subsidy burden

The Union fertiliser secretary, Rajat Kumar Mishra, has called for balanced use of crop nutrients as urea and DAP consumption has increased significantly during the current kharif season. Mishra highlighted the need for additional urea production to meet the rising demand and urged farmers and states to monitor the distribution of fertilizers and address regional disparities.
