Gujarat: Ex-councillor from Bhavnagar district killed by estranged hubby

A former Congress municipal councillor in Mahuva municipality, Bhavnagar district, was allegedly killed by her estranged husband. Mumtaz Kalaniya was bludgeoned to death by Harun Kalaniya following an altercation at her house. Mumtaz had been living separately from Harun for many years due to frequent fights. On Sunday morning, Harun called their son Zuber to inform him about the murder. Zuber found his mother’s body and took her to the hospital, where she was declared dead. Harun is still at large.
