Gujarat HC overrules civic body, OKs name change on astrologer’s advice

The Gujarat high court has ordered the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) to change the name of a two-and-a-half-year-old girl after her father sought the change based on an astrologer’s advice for the child’s good health. The father had initially named the child according to family tradition, but later consulted an astrologer who suggested a name change based on the child’s sun sign.
