HC: No girl can be forced to stop caring for parents

The Calcutta High Court has ruled that a wife cannot be prevented from living with her disabled mother and that no child can be forced to stop caring for their parents. The court made the decision while hearing a case involving a married couple, where the husband had filed a complaint against his wife. The court found no evidence to support the husband’s claims and quashed the complaint. It also noted that taking care of one’s parents is both a right and a duty under the law.
