By on October 1, 2023 0 6 Views

The high court in Kochi has criticized the corporation and district administration for the waterlogging issues in the city. The court has requested separate reports from the district collector and the corporation to identify the locations affected by the problem and propose solutions. The amicus curiae has highlighted three reasons for the recurring issue: waste dumping, inadequate drain inlets, and small drain sizes. Several areas, including Edapally toll, M G Road, Vytilla, and Jose Junction, experienced waterlogging during high tide. Traffic jams and damage to properties have also been reported. The district disaster management authority has opened a relief camp for affected individuals.
