Here are the Republicans in the mix to replace Kevin McCarthy

After the ousting of Speaker Kevin McCarthy, Republicans are considering possible contenders for the top job. Among them are Rep. Steve Scalise, who has a more conservative profile than McCarthy; Rep. Tom Emmer, who has relationships with Republicans he helped elect; Rep. Elise Stefanik, a full-throated Donald Trump loyalist; Rep. Jim Jordan, a prominent Trump ally; Rep. Darrell Issa, who noted Jordan’s support for McCarthy; Rep. Tom Cole, a figure of stability; and McCarthy himself.
