How Anandvan became a forest

In 2013, a retired marketing manager of a pharmaceutical firm, suffering from asthma, would stand with folded hands in front of a large plot beside the gate of Cloud 9 housing society on NIBM Road, requesting anyone who would stop and listen, to help him clean up the place and plant some saplings. His only goal then was to plant trees in the area so people could breathe cleaner air.
