IISc-Bengaluru team uses enzyme in cow’s digestive tract to break bacteria’s defence wall

Researchers at IISc have found a novel way to combat antibiotic resistance in bacteria. They used an enzyme found in a cow’s stomach to break down the protective biofilm that shields bacteria from drugs. This method proved highly effective in lab tests, making the bacteria significantly more susceptible to antibiotics.
